Anita Ruth Farmer, a beloved figure in her community, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. She was born on November 8, 1949, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Anita dedicated part of her life to serving others, showcasing her caring nature throughout her career as a secretary at 31-W Insulation and Cone Funeral Home.
Anita's passion for helping others extended beyond her professional life; she actively engaged in supporting veterans, reflecting her generous spirit. Her warm personality and willingness to lend a hand touched many lives.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Cowles, and her cherished brother, Terry Proctor. Anita also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Betty Farmer Pennington and brother-in-law, Roger Pennington, sister-in-law Glenda Proctor, sister-in-law Rosa Wyatt, and her nephews: David Farmer (Amanda), Randy Moore (Renee), Mike Proctor (Joy), Scott Proctor (Shelley), Ricky Moore (Christina), Brian Proctor (Kim), Tyler Proctor (Maggie), and Dennis Martin (Emily). She is also survived by her nieces, Taylor Proctor Hunt (Ryan) and Vickie Martin. She is also survived by several great nieces and great nephews.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Proctor and Louise G. Proctor, as well as her husband, James Farmer, her brothers, Johnny Proctor, Tommy Proctor, and Gary Proctor, along with her nephew, Johnny Moore, a niece Penny Martin, and sisters-in-law; Helen Farmer, Lisa Proctor.
Anita Ruth Farmer will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and the differences she made in the lives of those around her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 31st, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Still Cemetery.
