Anna Mae Hazel, lovingly known to friends and family as Anna, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at The Medical Center. Born on January 18, 1943, in Morgantown, Kentucky, she was the cherished daughter of Jim Doolin Evans and Ora V. Abner Evans. Anna's life was a testament to love, dedication, and close family ties.

Anna enjoyed a rich life filled with creative expressions, finding joy in canning vegetables, jams and jellies, quilting, and sewing for her loved ones. Her passion for gardening bloomed alongside her love for visiting with family and friends. A thoughtful soul, she often engaged in word searches at the table, finding both relaxation and satisfaction in the pursuit of words.

On August 1, 1964, Anna married her beloved husband, Bobby E. Hazel, in Aberdeen, Kentucky. Their marriage spanned an incredible 61 years, a partnership underscored by profound love and mutual respect. Together, they built a nurturing home for their family, raising four daughters: Sheila Lyons (Richard), Shawna Boggess (Tony Waid), and Deneshia Gomer, and Marissa Price (Steven), each of whom carries forward her spirit.

Anna's family expanded with the blessings of seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, one of whom was born just a day before her passing, on December 30, 2025. Anna found immense joy in her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, fostering bonds that will last through generations.

She is also survived by her siblings, Monnie F. Embry and Marie Wilhite, who shared invaluable memories and experiences with her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings, including James, Forrest, Elmer, Betty, and Emeline.

Anna Mae Hazel's legacy lives on through her family, and her memory will forever be honored in the hearts of those she touched. Her visitation will take place on January 5, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:30 PM at Cone Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The family invites all who knew Anna to join in celebrating her remarkable life and the warmth she brought to the lives of many.
