Barbara (Hansen) Wiebbecke

December 4, 1942 – February 11, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara H. Wiebbecke (Bobbi) on February 11, 2026.

Barbara was born on December 4, 1942, in Keystone, Iowa, to Johnnie E. Hansen and Elizabeth C. (Heitmann) Hansen. She completed her schooling in Keystone, Iowa, and earned her degree from Concordia University, St. Paul. She met Bill Wiebbecke, and they were married on June 4, 1964, in Iowa, beginning a lifelong partnership. A few years later, they moved to Colorado, where they raised their family and lived until retirement. In retirement, they relocated to Kentucky.

Barbara devoted herself to her family through commitment, care, and quiet sacrifice. She was a devoted wife who lovingly cared for her husband, a nurturing mother to her children, and a proud grandmother.

Bobbi dedicated her professional life to teaching elementary and middle school students for over 30 years. She believed deeply in the potential of every child. Her impact extended far beyond the classroom, as she stayed in touch with many former students over the years, celebrating their milestones and successes.

Faith was central to her life. She was an active member of her church, volunteering and serving on the church board. She shared her love of music through choir, piano, handbells, and organ, using her gifts in worship and community gatherings. Her faith guided her service and the compassionate way she lived each day.

Barbara Wiebbecke is survived by her children, Heidi Shrader (Jason) and Elisa Wingerd (Matthew); her grandchildren, Annelise Enlow (Brett), Kaitlyn Shrader, Katharine Oakley (Cliff), Cordell Wingerd (Elizabeth), and Gage Wingerd; her great-grandchild, Emery Enlow, and her sisters, Beverly Durham (Jim) and Dolores Underwood. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Wiebbecke; her parents, Johnnie and Elizabeth Hansen; and her siblings, Kenneth Hansen and Katharine Gamblin.

The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 9:30 am, with the service at 11:00 am, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (553 Ashmoor Ave, Bowling Green, KY 42101). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran School (553 Ashmoor Ave., Bowling Green, KY 42101)
