THE VISITATION AND FUNERAL SERVICE FOR MR. MITCHELL HAS BEEN MOVED TO FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 1106 STATE STREET, BOWLING GREEN, KY. Barnard Lynn Mitchell was born February 19, 1958, in Bowling Green, Ky and was called to his eternal home on May 24, 2021, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky. He was the son of Granville Mitchell, Sr. , who preceded him in death, and Margaret Lynn Mitchell, who survives. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daily Fishback. Barnard was a graduate of Bowling Green High School where he played football and ran track. He attended Murray State University and was employed by Camping World for 30 years. His kind-hearted, friendly demeanor never went unnoticed. He was a lover of all sports, but more specifically, a die-hard Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan. The Pittsburgh Steelers won his heart in football. His gentle smile will forever be remembered. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish precious memories, his wife, Karon Mitchell of Bowling Green; a daughter, Sheria Robertson, Jacksonville, FL; a son, Kareem Mitchell, Bowling Green, and a stepson, Jerwun Amos, Bowling Green. Other survivors include his brothers, Granville Mitchell, Jr (Zena), Varnado Mitchell (Carolyn), Evans Mitchell, and his sister, Cynthia Mitchell Boards (Don); his grandchildren, Jevon, Aliyah, Isaiah and Laila; his step granddaughter, Nyla; his mother-in-law, Nell Ruth Hill, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. The public visitation will be on Thursday, May 27, 2021, from 4 p. m. to 6 p. m. at First Christian Church, 1106 State Street, Bowling Green, KY (moved from Cornerview Community Church) and on Friday, May 28, 2021, from 9 a. m. until 11 a. m. with the funeral to be held at First Christian Church at 11 a. m.
