Betty Sue Stevens

Betty Sue Stevens was born May 19,1952, in Edmonson County, Kentucky, to James Albert Basham & Golda Mae (Glass) Basham.

Betty is preceded in death by both her parents, her daughter, Stacey Romero, a son, Manuel Romero Jr., brothers, James Albert Jr, Eldon, Lawerance (L.J.), Billy & Wayne Basham. Sisters, Mamie Skaggs, JoAnn Tabor, Jerlene Barbee. Many many nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Orbin Stevens, of Richardsville, Kentucky..She is also survived by daughter, Angelina Taylor, sons, Billy Romero & Christopher Stevens, a sister, Linda Simmons, her bonus daughter, Wendy Hayes of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Betty's 15 grandchildren, Skyler, Sayler & Reese Romero, Brittany Evans (Jacob), Fon Taylor, Fabian Romero, Audrey Simmons (Boone), Desiree, Denon, Desmond, Dabria, Deandra & Drake Romero, Kaley & Chloe Proctor..Betty had 6 great grandchildren.

Betty Sue was a beautiful soul. She started singing gospel music, as a very young girl, both in church, for local broadcasting in Bowling Green & continued to sing into her adult life, until she couldn't. We have no doubt that she continues to sing, with her Lord. Betty was a very devoted & loving wife, to her husband, whom she met in church. Betty was a wonderful Mother & Grandmother. She loved her family more than anything. We loved the goodness that she brought with her, to everyone she knew, met & loved. Betty will leave a lasting impact on anyone who truly knew her.

Betty Sue Stevens went to be with her Lord & Savior, on July 15,2025. She passed at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, after several years of lengthy illness, from strokes.

We will forever miss everything about her, but know that she can finally rest.

Betty loved her peaceful country home. She loved to sit for hours on her porch swing, listening to the beautiful sounds of her wind chimes, she loved very much. We want to thank everyone who has reached out to the family, with support, prayers & just being there.
