Betty Ray

Mrs. Betty Lou Ray, age 75 of Bowling Green, KY, passed away at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.

The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home with arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ray are scheduled to be conducted on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:30am. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30am until time of service at 11:30am. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Betty was born July 19, 1948, in Warren County, KY to the late Earl Preston Cox and the late Edna Dean Carson Cox. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas Ray, a son Roger Cox, three brothers, Thomas Cox, Howard Cox, and Charles Cox and a sister, Pauline Jenkins.

She is survived by her daughters, Shun Allen of Bowling Green, KY, Benita Ferguson (Dewon) of Bowling Green, KY and son, Richard Cox (Sandra) of Smiths Grove, KY; grandchildren, Tiara Cox-Stutzman, Shay Cox, Brandon Cox, Rachelle Cox, DeCarlo Cox, Ashley Cox, An’stachzia Winn, Ashton Cox, Richard Cox, Jr., Alice Henderson and Cassady Cook; twenty-one great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, and brother, Raymond Cox.

Betty worked for Western Kentucky University as a housekeeper for over twenty years. She loved playing bingo, sudoku and puzzle games. She also enjoyed watching Andy Griffith and Gun Smoke. Betty loved her family and spending time with them all.
