Billie Ruth Dorris, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, at the age of 81. She was born on January 22, 1945, to the late Ellen Haubenreich and Cecil Dorris.

Billie was a hardworking woman who spent her career as a bookkeeper. She also attended college, always valuing the importance of learning and growing. Outside of work, Billie found joy in the simple things that made life special. She loved crocheting, painting knick-knacks, fishing, and collecting cats. Her creativity, gentle spirit, and love for the things that brought her happiness will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her sister, Julie Murphy, and her beloved son, Carl Cogar III.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Robert Cogar and Ellen Gaffield (Brian); her siblings, David Dorris and Margery Mayfield; and her grandchildren, Tanner Landon (Jared), Dakota Gaffield, Micah Gaffield, Bailey Gaffield, Caspar Cogar, Shawn Moore, and Shelby Cogar. She is also survived by her 5 great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Billie's memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly and the many lives she touched throughout her years. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her creativity, kindness, and the special moments she shared with those around her.
