Bobby "BJ" Buck

March 2, 1948 — April 16, 2022

Bobby Joe Buck, 74 of Bowling Green took flight by an angel to his heavenly home on April 16, 2022. He was BJ to most of his friends. BJ was born in Sparta, TN on March 2, 1948. He was the eldest of three children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Murrel Reed Buck and Lester Perry Buck; a brother, Jerry Walter Buck and a sister, Debbie Annette Buck Wheeler. BJ was a high school graduate and had an Associate Degree from Tennessee Tech. He was retired from Cummings Industries in Cookeville, TN where he was in the Quality Control department. BJ is survived by his wife, Joann Pearson Buck. She knew from the start they were destined for each other. They shared a wonderful life together for 11 years with both having a fondness for the old values in life. BJ was not well known in Bowling Green, but if you were interested in rabbits then you would have known him. On a small farm outside Park City, he raised both meat rabbits and pet rabbits. These rabbits were breed stock and came with pedigrees. He was a walking encyclopedia on the raising and care of rabbits. He then decided to become a beekeeper. His second harvest was absolutely wonderful according to the people who purchased from him. Besides his wife, BJ is survived by 3 children: Kevin Ray Buck (Steve), Angie Buck Smith (Joe), Brian Keith Buck (Karen) and 4 grandchildren, Madison and Jacob Smith and Kason and Brogan Buck as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Pam Smith, Dr. Mark Bigler, Dr. Matthew Rutter, Dr. Richard McGahan and Hospice of Southern Ky for their kindness and compassion in the care of their loved one. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. Visitation for BJ Buck will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 21 from 5 pm – 8 pm with a memorial service to be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation in B'J's memory to the Hospice of Southern Kentucky. Donations can be mailed to 5872 Scottsville Road Bowling Green, KY 42104 or dropped off at the funeral home and envelopes will be provided.
