Carmen Orellana

March 5, 2010 — June 24, 2021

Carmen Elizabeth Ann Orellana, 11, of Bowling Green, gained her wings peacefully, June 24, 2021, surrounded by her family. Carmen fought cancer bravely, with the strength most adults never know, and touched the hearts of all that met her. She was unafraid to speak her mind and unapologetic in her desire that everyone should be kind to one another. She loved to dance, swim, sing, play soccer and spend time with her friends and family. Carmen was the epitome of what a big sister should be, always protective and nurturing of her younger sisters, cousins, and friends. Though her time was short, she led her family and friends in faith, never doubting God’s promise of salvation and eternal life. Carmen was a member of Greenhill United Methodist Church, a student at Plano Elementary School, and a WBKO Hometown Hero. She was the daughter of Darwin and Barbara Mosley-Orellana, and granddaughter of Wayne and Doris Mosley of Bowling Green who survive. She was proceeded in death by her grandmother Areceli Orellana of Honduras, her aunt, Kay Mosley-Upton (Jimmy), and uncle, Chris Scott, of Bowling Green. She is survived by her sisters, Haley Orellana, and Alivia Orellana; five aunts, Dana Scott, Joanie Scott and Tena Felts (Johnny) of Bowling Green, Tammy Clark (David) of Beaverton Oregon, and Luria Orellana of Honduras; four uncles, Melvin Orellana, Nelson Orellana, and Darrell Scott of Bowling Green, and Juan Carlos Orellana of Honduras; several cousins, great aunts and uncles, friends, and her beloved pit-bull, Buddy. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Ln) with arrangements. There will be a public visitation at Cone Funeral Home on Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 3 pm to 6 pm, and on Monday, June 28, 2021, from 10 am to 5 pm, and again on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 10 am to 11:00 am, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Carmen’s body will then be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery (1209 Fairview Ave) at 1 pm.
