Carol Jones Hitch, 89, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026.
Carol was born on September 4, 1936, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Walter Murray Jones and Ella Louise (Bruce) Jones. She attended Wyandotte High School, where she was a proud Bulldog. She later earned her Associate Degree in Medical Records from Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte, Nebraska.
Carol worked in several medical offices throughout Nebraska before moving to Kentucky in the 1990s. Once in Bowling Green, she turned her creativity into a small business, Baskets by Carol, where she lovingly handcrafted gift baskets for special occasions. She enjoyed setting up at local arts and crafts festivals and took great pride in creating thoughtful gifts that brought joy to others.
A devoted member of Living Hope Baptist Church, Carol faithfully served her church family for many years. She volunteered in numerous ways, including welcoming others as a door greeter, where her warm smile made everyone feel at home. She also dedicated countless hours as a volunteer at Greenview Hospital, serving in both the gift shop and laboratory. Helping others brought Carol great happiness, and she gave of herself with a joyful heart.
Carol will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her compassion, generosity, and quiet strength touched countless lives. To know Carol was to experience genuine kindness.
She is survived by her three sons: Brad Hitch and his wife, Cathy; Darryl Hitch and his wife, Stephanie; and Tim Hitch and his wife, Deahn. She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
She is also survived by her brother, Larry Jones and his wife, Mary, of Iowa, along with several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Carol held a special place in her heart for Sam and Aidan, who knew her simply as Grandma and shared a particularly close bond with her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Walter Murray Jones and Ella Louise (Bruce) Jones.
Carol’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, selfless service, kindness, and unconditional love. Her gentle presence, warm smile, generous heart, and steadfast devotion to her family and her Lord will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held on July 2, 2026 at Cone Funeral Home from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Carol will be laid to rest in Kansas City, Kansas at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
