Carolina "June" Reed, 88, passed away on March 26, 2026, at Cal Turner Specialty Care in Scottsville, KY. Originally from Philippi, WV, June had recently moved to Bowling Green, KY, to be close to and cared for by her daughter Judy and son-in-law John.

June was the devoted wife of the late Jack Reed. Together, they raised five children and were constant, supportive fixtures at every event their children participated in. She was a woman who truly lived for her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Poling and her husband John, and Sandy Hawkins; her son, Rex Reed and his wife Melissa; and her son-in-law, Sam Faulkiner. June was a proud grandmother to Justin Poling (Rebecca), Joshua Poling (Chelsey), Ashley Coontz (David), Amy Coontz, Elizabeth Grimes (Rodney), Melissa Wilfong, Lori Hawkins, Greg Hawkins, and Derek Davis. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, including a special great-grandson, Gunnar Coontz.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Reed, and her daughters, Brenda Reed and Jackie Reed.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to her special caregivers, Judy Marsh and Libby Moats, as well as the staffs at Cal Turner Specialty Care, Hospice of Southern Kentucky, Chandler Assisted Living, Empower Me Wellness, and Baughman Towers for their compassionate care.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in West Virginia, where June will be laid to rest beside her husband and two daughters at Clemtown Cemetery.
