Carson Yanneris Shiro, beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, coach, and cherished member of his community, passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 36. He was born on June 6, 1990 in Kolonia, Pohnpei, but was raised in Saipan.

Carson was a dedicated achiever from the very beginning. He graduated in the top 10 of his class from Kagman High School, where he established a strong foundation for the hardworking and compassionate man he would become. After arriving in the United States, Carson continued to pursue his goals with determination and an unwavering work ethic, ultimately becoming a Certified Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).

While Carson accomplished much throughout his life, his greatest gift was his ability to connect with people. He had a natural way of making friends, building bridges, and creating lasting relationships wherever life took him. To know Carson was to know someone who could make you laugh, brighten a room with a quick comeback, or turn an ordinary moment into a memory that would last a lifetime.

Carson’s love for baseball began on the fields of Micro Beach, where he spent time watching his parents practice softball. What began as a childhood passion grew into a lifelong love of the game. He joined his first team, the Young Gunz, and went on to travel across the country playing the sport he loved. Baseball was more than a game to Carson; it was a source of friendship, community, adventure, and joy.

His love of the sport also inspired him to give back. Carson proudly coached his girls' softball team, Sohte Ronge, sharing his knowledge, passion, and encouragement with the next generation. Through coaching, he created opportunities for young athletes while making memories that will continue to live on in the lives of the girls he coached.

Outside of baseball, Carson enjoyed drinking sakau with his friends, playing bingo, pulling pranks and tricks on those around him, and, of course, delivering one of his legendary quick comebacks. He treasured time spent with his family and friends and had a special ability to make the people around him feel connected and included.

Carson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sisanando Seneres and Elena Kostka, and grandparents, Ichiuo Epiti and Karemena Otto, his biological parents, Welber Santos and Karlihna Seneres Santos, his brother, Karvin “Frankie” Shiro, nephew, Gabriel Y. Roby, and nephew, Landon Chase Shiro.

He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory in their hearts, including his parents Francis Y. Shiro and Dolores S. Yanneris, his sister Dayolinda Yanneris (Ricken C. Andon), and her children, Kalealana Roby and Gabriana Y. Andon; his sister Renseline Loney, and her children, Deven Loney, Darrell Abrego, Jasmine Abrego, and Kyle Otken Jr.; his late brother Karvin “Frankie” Shiro’s child, Rowan Shiro; his brother Sisanando Shiro, and his children, Deajah J. Shiro, Wyatt H. Shiro, Sariah S. Shiro, and Sisanando Shiro Jr.; and his sister DeeFrancella Y. Fulghum (Richard J. Fulghum), and their children, Richard J. Fulghum Jr., Destiny L. Fulghum, Michael C. Campos, and Francella J. Fulghum.

Though Carson’s time with us was far too short, the impact he made on those around him was immeasurable. His laughter, humor, generosity, determination, and love for his family, friends, and the game he cherished will never be forgotten.

He leaves behind more than memories; he leaves behind friendships, lessons, laughter, and countless stories that will continue to be shared for generations to come.

Carson may have left the field, but he will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
