Charyle Ann Hurtado, affectionately known as Cheryl, was born on January 17, 1942, in Orange, California. She peacefully departed from this world on May 19, 2025, while receiving care at the Southern Kentucky Hospice House.

Cheryl was a phenomenal wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, embodying the core of her family. She cherished her role as a devoted spouse to her beloved husband, Gilbert Hurtado, to whom she was married on November 7, 1959, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their union was a remarkable journey that spanned an incredible 66 years, filled with love, adventure, and unwavering support for one another.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Gilbert Hurtado; her brother, Ron Nugent, and his wife, Kathy, from North Carolina; her son, Randy Hurtado, from Louisville, KY; and her daughter, Bettie Jean Zubak, along with her husband, Charles, from Hemet, CA. She took great pride in her family and leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Aimee, Chelsea, Jessica from California, and Destinee from Missouri. Additionally, she is blessed with five great-grandchildren who live in California, who will carry her legacy forward.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, John R. Nugent and Jean Elizabeth Nugent, whose guidance and love shaped her life.

Her family will forever remember her as an extraordinary matriarch, whose love knew no bounds. Cheryl’s spirit and light will continue to shine through the lives she touched, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
