Deborah Malecek

Deborah “Debbie” Sue Malecek, 70, of Bowling Green, KY passed away after a short bout with Leukemia Thursday April 6th, 2023, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She was born to Lewis (Lou) and Donna Heffner (Boso) on May 28th, 1952, in East Liverpool, OH. Deborah was the oldest child and had one sister, Lori Jean Heffner Sabbato. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis (Lou) and Donna Heffner, her sister Lori Sabbato and brother-in-law John Sabbato. After growing up in Garden Grove, CA she resided in several places within the US but spent most of her time in Santa Claus, IN where she raised her own two children. She worked in the dietary department of a nursing home in Ferdinand, IN but mainly loved being a housewife. She also enjoyed Arts and Crafts, mainly sewing. She is survived by her daughter, Katie of Bowling Green, KY and her son, Garet (Kristen) of Elizabethtown, KY. She had three beautiful grandchildren, Dylan Miles Cox, Elizabeth Leigh Cox, and Emilia Kathleen-Poikonen Malecek, as well as many nieces and nephews. Cremation was chosen by her children with a small celebration of life which will be held at a later date.
