Diane S. Gaylord

Diane S. Gaylord, affectionately known as "The Warrior Queen" and "Momma Bear," passed away on November 6, 2025, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Born on March 14, 1968, in Anaheim, California, Diane was a remarkable woman whose spirit and strength touched the lives of all who knew her.

Diane dedicated 27 years of her career to the insurance industry, working for a company in California that specialized in the food and beverage industry. She was proud to be the first employee of a start-up company, ultimately taking on a management role overseeing 25 employees and sales representatives.

In addition to her professional achievements, Diane found her greatest joy in her family. She was the loving mother of three wonderful and courageous children—Kenneth R. Gaylord III, Ashley Gaylord, and Nicholas J. Gaylord. Her pride in them was immeasurable, and she cherished the immense love they shared as siblings. Diane was married to her husband, Kenneth R. Gaylord Jr., for 41 years, having tied the knot on September 1, 1984, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their bond was a testament to love and partnership.

Diane faced challenges bravely, becoming disabled in 2015 and battling sickness since 2022. True to her warrior spirit, she fought for her life until the very end. Her strength inspired those around her, and she will be remembered for her resilience.

Outside of work and family, Diane had many hobbies and interests. She loved to crochet, often making beanies to distribute to friends and donating them to those in need during the winter months. She had a fondness for watching birds, taking solace in their chirping and grace as they fed outside her home. Diane was a fan of television as well, enjoying shows like Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Grey's Anatomy, and Downton Abbey. And above all, she truly loved her coffee.

Diane is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Gaylord Jr.; her children, Kenneth R. Gaylord III, Ashley Gaylord, and Nicholas J. Gaylord; her sisters, Patricia Wright, Debbie Wright, and predeceased by Cynthia Wright; and countless friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary L. Wright and William R. Roberts. Diane’s legacy of love, courage, and commitment to family will continue to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
