Diane Lenore Story, formerly Holcomb, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 13, 2026. Born on September 9, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Diane lived a rich and full life marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys, such as her love for owls and the color blue.

Diane devoted many years of her professional life as a long-term employee at North Memorial, where her commitment and service touched the lives of countless individuals. Her career was a testament to her strong work ethic and compassionate nature.

She was a beloved sister to Jim Holcomb and Corrine Lindgren with her husband Jack. Diane was also a cherished mother to Tammy Bruyere-Story and Lynn Almsted, who is married to Jeff. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Ryan Story, Travis Almsted, Nicole Story, Samantha Hunn and her husband Kevin, Ashley Larson, Zeth Beesley, Adam Almsted, and Anthony Teskey. The joy she found in family was evident in her close relationship with her seven great-grandchildren, who will fondly remember their great-grandmother’s gentle spirit.

Diane was preceded in death by her loving parents, Margaret Catherine Holcomb and Earl Stanley Holcomb, and by siblings Sandra Mell, and Robert Holcomb. She also mourned the losses of her children Wendy and Kimberly Story, who remain forever in her heart.

Her life was a beautiful tapestry woven with enduring love, family ties, and treasured memories. Diane’s presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her, yet her spirit will continue to inspire all who were privileged to cross her path.
