Obituary:

Donald E. Brooks, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence in Bowling Green. He was born on January 9, 1937, and departed from this world on March 24, 2024.

Donald's life was marked by a deep love for his family and friends. He found joy in spending quality time with his loved ones and sharing in their laughter and stories. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, pursuits that brought him serenity and fulfillment. An avid NASCAR fan, Donald's enthusiasm for the sport was infectious to all who knew him.

A man of service, Donald honorably served in the United States Military, embodying values of loyalty and dedication throughout his life. His professional journey led him to the realm of trucking, where he drove a semi for several trucking companies over the years.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 42 years and his children: Wesley Brooks and wife Jenny, Allen Swift and wife Sue, Melissa Eakes and husband Robert. Also, two brothers Billy Brooks, and Rondal Brooks. Donald also leaves behind a legacy through his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will always hold him dear in their hearts.

In the embrace of eternal peace, Donald now reunites with his parents, Robert and Mae Brooks. He is also preceded in death by his siblings: Marie Smith, Paullette Brooks, James Brooks, Ellis Merle Brooks, Richard Brooks, Terry Brooks, and Clifton Brooks.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suggests that any donations be made to Hosparus in honor of Donald's memory.

Donald E. Brooks will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, his generous spirit toward others, and the warmth he exuded to all who were fortunate enough to know him. May his legacy live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness and love.
