Donald Yates

Donald Perry “Rughead” Yates, 80 years old, passed away August 26, at Signature HealthCare here in Bowling Green. He was born June 18, 1943 to the late James Neil Yates and Goldie Lee Gann Yates. Also preceding in death were two brothers, Alvis Yates and Jay Yates and four sisters, Doris Grimm, Ann Castelle, Barbara Evans, and Lola Allen. Donald retired from the Bowling Green Fire Department after 30 years of dedicated service. One of his hobbies was watching and sometimes attending NASCAR Racing. He liked meeting his friends for morning coffee and swapping stories. He is survived by his wife, Loretta, and had celebrated their 59th year of marriage August 22, at the facility. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and special nephew, Dennis Grimm of California. There will be a private graveside service at Fairview Cemetery. Donald had chosen cremation. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to your charity of choice.
