Doris Jean Mosley

Doris Jean “Sissy” Mosley, 69, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 3, 2026. She was born on December 8, 1956, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, to the late Josephine and Jimmy “Jr” Miller.

Doris, affectionately known by her family and friends as “Sissy,” was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, caregiver, and friend. She was a graduate of Warren East High School and dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a professional caregiver. Her compassionate heart and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many, and she will always be remembered for the love and kindness she so freely gave.

In the summer of 1993, Doris married the love of her life, Wayne Mosley, in the beautiful surroundings of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Together, they shared many cherished years filled with love, family, laughter, and memories that will remain treasured forever.

Doris was a devoted mother to Darrell Scott, Dana Scott, Joanie Scott, Tena Felts, Tammy Clark, and Barbara Mosley, and she held the memory of her late children, Christopher Scott and Kay Borders, close to her heart. She was a proud grandmother to CJ Scott, Jasmine Abarca, Angelica Rivas, Jonathan Abarca, Haley Orellana, Enrique Scott, Alivia Orellana, and Luis Scott. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Christopher and Carmen. Her late grandchild, Carmen Orellana, will forever remain a beloved part of her family and heart.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Mosley; her children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Virginia Boyd, Rita Hurt, Ricky Ray Miller, and Jimmy “Jimbo” Miller.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Jimmy “Jr” Miller; her child, Christopher Scott; her grandchild, Carmen Orellana; and her siblings, Barbara Miller, Eva Fish (Dallas Fish), Mary Jo Owens (JW Owens), Beverly Drye (Taran Drye), Larry Miller, Robert Miller, Shirley Crouch, and Sara Bell Miller.

Family meant everything to Doris. Some of her happiest moments were spent surrounded by the people she loved, especially during holidays, birthdays, and family gatherings. She had a gift for making ordinary moments feel special and cherished every opportunity to bring her family together. Doris was passionate about decorating and loved redoing her home over and over, always finding a new way to make her surroundings feel beautiful and welcoming. She also enjoyed taking vacations, making memories along the way, and was always ready for a friendly game of poker or rummy.

Doris Jean “Sissy” Mosley leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, laughter, and countless memories that will live on through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love will continue to surround her family in the traditions, stories, and memories they share. She will be remembered not only for the life she lived, but for the lives she touched and the love she gave so generously.
