November 5, 1962 — November 28, 2024

Edward Earl Phelps, affectionately known as "Bub," was born on November 5, 1962, in Rockfield, Kentucky. He passed away on November 28, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of skill, dedication, and love.

Bub was a devoted family man who took great pride in ability to fix things whether they were household items or vehicles. His talent for working with his hands became a hallmark of his character, showcasing his commitment to making the world around him a better place. Those who knew him often admired his problem-solving abilities and his readiness to lend a helping hand to others.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melodie Phelps; daughter, Tamecka Ladon Phelps; and son, Chase Edward Evans Phelps. Bub also cherished his role as a grandfather to Makayla Lyric Basham, Makenly Ladon Lewis, and Makenna Lynn Lewis. His close-knit family was always at the center of his life, and he took immense joy in their time spent together.

Bub's legacy will be felt not only through his accomplishments but also in the hearts of his siblings, including his brother, David Phelps, and sister, Shelia Hines. They carry forward the memory of a man who was not just a brother but also a mentor and a friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herschell Dowell Phelps, and his mother, Margie Marie Cline. Bub was also the grandson of Andrew Jackson Phelps Sr. and Margaret Jeanette Phelps, whose lessons and love shaped the man he became.

As we remember Edward Earl Phelps, we celebrate a life marked by craftsmanship, the warmth of family ties, and the unquestionable love he shared. His spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
