Effort Hayes

Mr. Effort L. Hayes, Sr. , age 83, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Hayes are scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 175 Graham Drive Bowling Green, KY, 42101. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. **PLEASE NOTE** Family requests masks be worn during the visitation and service. Effort was born August 27, 1938, in Warren County, KY to the late Clarence Hayes and the late Mineva Britt. He was also preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Hayes of 37 years. He is survived by his two sons, Effort Hayes, Jr. (Dana) of Bowling Green, KY and Christopher Hayes (Vickie) of Pittsburg, PA; stepdaughter, Twana J. Cornett (Julian) of St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Joshua Hayes, Aaron Scott, Chris Brown, Christon Hayes, Ryan Hayes, Christonna Anthony; step-granddaughter, Shamaree E. Cornett; caregiver, Rosa Brooks. Effort was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and became a Deacon in 2006. He was a truck driver for over 50 years. He umpired for many baseball and softball games. Effort was known for his manicured lawn and rose bushes. He enjoyed a cigar from time to time. Special thanks to Effort's Caregiver, Rosa Brooks.
