Elizabeth Ann (Chaffin) Collier, affectionately known as Ann, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026, at The Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. Born Elizabeth Ann Powell Chaffin on December 28, 1945, in Hopkinsville, KY, she lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep appreciation for family and community.

Ann’s professional journey included meaningful work at Fruit of the Loom, Lowes, and Goodwill. Her commitment to these roles reflected her strong work ethic and her genuine care for those around her.

She found joy in sewing, creating beautiful quilts, and cherished cooking alongside her sister-in-law. Ann was also an avid television enthusiast, with a particular fondness for classic shows such as Dallas and Knots Landing, which she enjoyed watching regularly.

Ann was united in marriage to Dickie Collier for eight years and shared a total of twelve years together, a testament to their enduring bond and companionship.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Dickie Collier; her cherished daughter, Amanda Chaffin; her step-son Daniel Collier; and her beloved grandchildren Stephanie (Joe) Haynes, Deidra (Michael) Hogan, David (Chelsea) Chaffin, and Derek (Sierra) Chaffin. Ann also leaves behind her siblings Tommy Hubert (Paulette), Jimmy Earl, Glenn Powell, Martha Manning (Ken), Geraldine (Chris) Shith, Elmer Sutton, and Glinda Sutton, who have been sources of support and love throughout her life.

Ann is lovingly remembered by her late parents, Glorine Bryant Powell and Harry Hubert Powell; her sons Luther and Terry Chaffin; her grandchild Laura Jean Nicole Haynes; and her siblings Gwyneth Wimberly, Jackyline Powell, Daniel Sutton, and Joseph Sutton.

A visitation to honor Ann’s life will be held on April 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Providence Knob Baptist Church, located at 210 Browning Rd, Rockfield, KY 42274. Following this, a burial service will take place at Plano Baptist Church, 600 Plano Richpond Rd, Bowling Green, KY 42104, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Elizabeth Ann Collier’s legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and a radiant spirit that touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in her life’s journey.
