Evelyn Lydia Cummings

Evelyn Lydia Cummings, age 93, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026. Born on August 31, 1932, in Mt. Clemmons, Michigan, she was a cherished daughter of Lloyd and Lydia Pearson.

Evelyn was baptized in 1960 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, dedicating her life in service to Jehovah. She devoted many full-time years to ministry, helping countless individuals come to know Jehovah God. Her faith was a cornerstone of her identity, inspiring those around her.

A loving matriarch, Evelyn was known as the grandmother of the neighborhood. She opened her home to all children and embraced their joy with open arms. Her passion for nurturing young lives left a lasting impression on many. She found immense delight in cultivating beautiful gardens filled with flowers of all kinds, celebrating nature's beauty. In addition to her love for gardening, Evelyn enjoyed quilting and sewing; her beautiful quilts have been lovingly passed down through her family, becoming cherished heirlooms.

Evelyn's proudest accomplishment was her enduring marriage to Henry Allen Cummings, with whom she shared her life for an incredible 68 years, marrying on May 21, 1949, in Franklin, Kentucky. Together, they created a loving family environment that will be remembered fondly by all who knew them.

She is survived by her son, James Allen Cummings; her daughter, Robyn Helit (Joseph); grandchildren, Brad Cummings, Michelle Allen, Crystal Cummings, Laura Brust, Neena Hook, Ami Hutchison, and Andrew Helit; and several great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Allen Cummings, and her parents, Lloyd and Lydia Pearson.

Visitation will take place on February 7, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1035 Mount Olivet Rd, Bowling Green, KY 42101, followed by a memorial service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Evelyn Lydia Cummings will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
