Also known as Freddie, the foundation of his faith was planted early during his upbringing in Kingsport, Tennessee. He carried that faith with him throughout his life, allowing it to guide his path and shape the countless lives he touched.

Freddie was a 1978 graduate of the University of Tennessee, where he earned a degree in business. On December 27 1981, at Fort Robinson Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN, he married his dearest wife, Cathy Gail. They shared nearly 45 wonderful years of marriage, where they built a beautiful life together.

Answering his calling to serve, Freddie was ordained into ministry at Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green. Over the years, he faithfully served several congregations across Kentucky, leaving a lasting impact through his leadership, compassion, and unwavering devotion.

In addition to his ministry, Freddie was a business owner and entrepreneur. He found joy in cheering on the VOLS, watching NASCAR, boating on the lake, painting, music and singing . He had a gift for making others laugh, and his infectious smile and warm spirit brightened every room he entered.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Among his greatest joys in life was his family. Being “Papaw” was a role he cherished deeply and wholeheartedly.

A true pillar of strength and faith, Freddie’s life profoundly shaped and transformed all who knew him. His heart, resilience, and steadfast spirit, along with his ability to uplift others through humor, kindness, and wisdom, have left an eternal mark on this world.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” — Psalm 116:15

Freddie will be laid to rest at Bowling Green Gardens. A private family service and burial will be held.
