With great joy and fond remembrance, we celebrate the vibrant life of George Bernal Jr, who was born on October 2, 1944, in the picturesque town of Chama, Colorado, and passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, at The Medical Center. George’s journey through life was marked by a spirit of adventure and an infectious enthusiasm for the world around him.
A graduate of high school, George dedicated a significant chapter of his life to his career at Nasco, from which he retired with pride and fulfillment. But beyond his professional achievements, George's true passion was in the simple pleasures that brought him such delight—walking through nature’s trails, attending lively car shows, and embracing every opportunity to meet new friends. If it involved the great outdoors, camping under the stars, or just enjoying the sunshine, George was there, fully engaged and radiating joy.
George was a dearly beloved son, survived by his siblings Sarah and Jackie, who shared countless memories and moments of laughter with him throughout their lives. He was a proud father to Brandon Bernal, Nichole Brannon, Natalie Brannon, Blake Waldon, and the children George, Robin, and Georgia, all of whom carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. His life was further enriched by the presence of multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one a living testament to the joy and warmth he generously shared.
Though his parents, Lucy and George Bernal, are no longer with us, their spirit was clearly reflected in the generous, joyful soul that George Jr embodied. His smile, his tales, and his unwavering zest for life will be remembered and cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As we celebrate George Bernal Jr’s remarkable life, we hold close the memories of his adventures and the radiant happiness he brought into every room, every gathering, and every heart. His journey may have ended, but the joyous echo of his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us all. Here’s to George—a life beautifully lived, a heart endlessly full, and a legacy of joy that will forever light our way.
