Gordon McDavitt

Gordon Lee McDavitt Beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and ex-husband passed away peacefully at the Hospice House of Southern KY on Monday January 9, 2023. He was 80 years of age. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home with arrangements. Funeral Services for Gordon McDavitt are scheduled to be conducted on Friday January 13, 2023, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM. Gordon was a painter for most of his life. He was a graduate of Alvaton High School and spent time in the Air force. He had been married three times; his ex-wives were Sharon Beams, Linda Price, and Wanda McDavitt. He loved all three of these women dearly. Gordon had nine Children; Tina Simpson, Tammy Spencer (Dewayne), Trina Murphy (Chris), Kevin McDavitt (Cindy), Kim Brown, Kelly McDavitt Poole , Kyle McDavitt, Ladonna Lane, Tiffany McDavitt (Jason). He had twenty-four grandchildren: Blake, Hunter, Taylor, Clay, Dalin, Michael, Zach, Landon, Brianna, Ashton, Joshua, Brendan, Dustin, Tanner, Brentley, Bryson, Mallory, Lucas, Emma, Paizley, Cash, Hayden, Troy, and Alexis. Five great grandchildren; Adalynn, Jackson, Baylee, Alina, and Myles. He had five siblings; Carol Hinton (Larry), Elaine Bandy (Rich), Roselle Watt, Wayne McDavitt (June) and Walter McDavitt (Bridget) and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Gladys McDavitt his father James McDavitt, and his grandsons, Blake Simpson and Dalin Spencer. He was a blessing to everyone he encountered he had an infectious smile and laugh, He loved to joke with everyone no matter the place or situation he was in. He was a Baptist and loved the lord, His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Gordon was a Devoted UK Wildcats Fan as well as Green Bay Packers and the NY Yankees.
