James Landon Jarrett, 71, of Bowling Green, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Hospice House, surrounded by his family. The native of Nashville, Tennessee was a son of the late James Jarrett Sr. and Vera Beatrice Jarrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Vickie Loftis and Carrol Hart.

James lived a life of helping others as a Registered Nurse for 41 years at Med Center Health, serving in the ER and later as Clinical Director of the Commonwealth Health Free Clinic. He was a graduate of Martin Methodist College and Western Kentucky University. James loved his time with his grandchildren and grand dogs. His passion was working in the yard and tending to his garden.

James wished to be cremated. A Celebration of Life visitation will be at Cone Funeral Home, Monday August 17th at 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Tuesday August 18th at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. There will also be a service to follow, at 11:00 AM.

James is survived by his wife, Claudia Jarrett; two daughters, Jessica Jarrett and Amanda Brown (Will); two grandchildren, James Brown and Avery Kate Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association.
