James "Jim" Whiteside, a beloved figure in his community, passed away on September 15, 2025, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Born on October 25, 1946, in Peru, Indiana, Jim lived a life filled with service, dedication, and love.
As a co-owner of Marine Parts Warehouse in Scottsville, Kentucky, Jim devoted himself to his work and was respected in the business community for his integrity and hard work. His passion for his career was matched only by his commitment to his family and faith. He served as an elder at Riverstone Church of Christ in Bowling Green, where he was a guiding light for many and contributed significantly to the church community.
Jim is survived by his loving spouse, Donna Whiteside, and their cherished sons, Brian Alan Whiteside (Jennifer) of Alvaton, Kentucky, and Chris Whiteside (Anna) of Bowling Green, Kentucky. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather, doting on his grandchildren: Olivia, Cora, Braden, Quinn and Daniel Whiteside, Andrew Cohron (Cassie), and Ashlyn McGuire (Bryton). He also cherished his great grandchildren: Rayleigh and Cooper Cohron, Adley and Briggs McGuire.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James William Whiteside and Betty Oldham, who instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and community service that he carried throughout his life.
Please join us in celebrating Jim's life at a memorial service held on September 27, 2025, at the Midtown Events Center located at 824 Lehman Ave, Bowling Green, Kentucky. The service will commence at 2:00 PM. Jim will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege to know him, and his legacy will continue to inspire many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital out of Memphis, TN.
