Jerry R. Wilson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 7, 2025, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, at the age of 81. Born on January 27, 1944, in Oakland City, Indiana, Jerry's life was marked by devotion to his family, faith, and a host of personal passions.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Jerry served his country with honor. His commitment to service extended to his community where he was an enthusiastic supporter of both Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky. A fervent racing fan and antique car enthusiast, Jerry found joy in the thrill of speed and the beauty of classic automobiles, passions that he shared with friends and family alike.

Jerry was known for his deep love for animals, a reflection of his compassionate nature. As a Christian, he lived his life grounded in his faith, embodying the values of love and kindness in all his interactions.

He is survived by his spouse of 59 years, Brenda C. Wilson. He leaves behind a caring family that includes his children, Michael Wilson (Lori) and Dana Wilson. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Meredith, Josh, and Madelyn Wilson, who brought him immense pride and joy.

Jerry's siblings, Pam Johnson (late Jerry W.), Tom Wilson (Charlotte), and Elizabeth Burchfield (Steven), along with his cousins Eddie Railey, Brenda Railey, Susan Railey, Mike Martin, and Terry Martin, also mourn his passing. In addition, he is remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, all of whom were touched by his love and warmth.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Wilson (Donna), mother, Mildred Elrod (Winburn), his father-in-law, Carl Jenkins, and mother-in-law, Ruth Jenkins.

His unique sense of humor, dedication to family, and zest for life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In accordance with the family's wishes, a private graveside service with military honors will be held at a later date. 

Visitation  will be held on Monday, June 16th, 2025 at Woodburn Baptist Church, 600 Woodburn Allen Springs Rd, Woodburn, KY 42170 from 2:00pm - 5:00pm with a memorial service to follow.
