Jo Ann Roche, who was affectionately known to many as a devoted caregiver and an ardent animal and book lover, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. She was born on April 25, 1940, in Warren County, Kentucky, where her nurturing spirit first began to blossom.

Throughout her life, Jo Ann demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her family, serving as the cornerstone of strength and compassion. One of her proudest accomplishments was the joyous bond she shared with her beloved husband, Dewey, whom she married on June 7, 1958. Their love story is one that many will remember, as it was marked by dedication, mutual respect, and countless shared moments of laughter and joy.

Jo Ann was the proud mother of four sons, Keith Roche and his wife Rene Madison-Roche, Tony Roche, Kevin Roche and Matt Roche. She also cherished her role as a grandmother to seven grandchildren: Christopher(Joy) Roche, Ryan Roche, Katelyn(Joel) Akins, Colin(Julie) Roche, Callie Roche, Madison(Trenton) Cessna, and Devin Roche. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and her love for them was boundless and unwavering. She was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, whose smiles and laughter brought her immeasurable happiness.

From the quiet peace of her reading nook to the engaging challenge of a Jeopardy episode, Jo Ann found joy in simple pleasures. Her love for animals reflected her kind soul, always nurturing and caring for those in need. She was well-known for her gentle heart, and her dedication to caring for her family and community became a hallmark of her life.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mamie Johnson, her beloved husband, Dewey Roche and sons Tony and Kevin. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience—a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

As we reflect on Jo Ann's life, we celebrate the moments that defined her—her unwavering support for her family, her generous spirit, her desire for social justice and her ability to find joy in everyday life. She touched the lives of so many with her kindness and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Cremation has been chosen.
