Johnny Gilbert

Johnny Hamilton Gilbert, 70, of Brownsville, Ky died after a hard battle with cancer on October 5, 2020 at home surrounded by his beloved family. Johnny was born in Bowling Green, Ky, on July 29, 1950 to the late Carl and Janetta Gilbert. He attended Bowling Green High School and worked for Bowling Green Municipal Utilities. He had three children with his first wife. In 1986 he married Arletha Gilbert. They were married for 34 years until she preceded him in death. Mr. Gilbert is survived by two sisters, Margie Blair (Bobby) and Carolyn Lewis; three children: Angel Rone (Randy Boyd), Shawn Gilbert (Crystal Gilbert), and Candy Martin (Jeremy Martin); seven grandchildren: Mark Duncan, Shawn Gilbert, Arijana Martin, Kobe Martin, Kaden Martin, Chloe Basham, and Liam Gilbert; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Johnny was a great man who loved his family very much. He also had a strong love for his puppies. He put up a good fight against the cancer that eventually took him from his beloved family.
