Joyce Pennington

Joyce Ann Pennington, 79, of Bowling Green, KY, was born on December 29, 1941, in Warren County, KY, and died, on June 1, 2021, at her home in Bowling Green. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eunice Blair; five brothers, Henry Blair, Junior Blair, Wayne Blair, Otha Blair, and James Blair; and one sister, Dorothy Ignacio. Mrs. Pennington is survived by her husband of 62 years, Silas Pennington. In those 62 great years together they raised four children who love their Mama dearly, Joyce Marie Russell (Bill), Debbie Abu-Nasser (Sam), Buck Pennington (Tammy), and Richard Pennington (Kristin). Besides her husband and children, Joyce is survived by one sister, Betty Moore (Rick), and one brother, Bobby Blair (Jean); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends who consider her family. Joyce Pennington was a woman of great faith who loved the Lord and read her Bible every night. She loved her family fiercely and was “Mama” to many. She was a woman of many talents and was always busy cooking, especially fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, and mashed potatoes, while still making time for working on crafts, bird watching, and making things grow with her “green thumb”. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. The services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Berea Christian Church, 2525 Gotts Hydro Rd S, Oakland, KY. The visitation is from 11 a. m. to 2 p. m. , and the Funeral Service is at 2 p. m. , with the burial to follow in the Berea Christian Church Cemetery.
