Katherine Bond, a dedicated barber at Fister's Barbershop in Merrville, Indiana, has sadly passed away. She was born on April 27, 1952, in Hammond, Indiana, to her parents Delores and Theodore Donovsky. Katherine was a loving wife to Jan E. Bond for 52 years and a cherished mother to James C. Bond, who is married to Merry Bond.

Throughout her life, Katherine pursued her passion for barbering and also earned her BA in Nursing from Indiana University. She had a thirst for knowledge and loved to read books in her free time. Katherine found joy in the company of her family and held a special place in her heart for spending quality time with her loved ones.

Katherine is survived by her husband Jan, son James and daughter-in-law Merry. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Jeri Donovsky DeLong, Lisa (Alycia) Donovsky Adkisson, and Greg Donovsky. Katherine was also a proud grandmother to Christa Sites, Carlie Hardin, and Wesley Hardin; as well as a doting great-grandmother to Aaron Sites, Christian Sites, and Kaitlyn Sites. Additionally, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Katherine's warm smile and kind heart touched the lives of many. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Katherine Bond may have left this world, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her dearly. Rest peacefully, dear Katherine.


Services to honor and celebrate Katherine's life will be held on April 19, 2024. The visitation will take place at Cone Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Kentucky, starting at 2:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 4:00 PM.
