Kathy Machelle Garmon, 59, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026. She was born on December 28, 1966, to the late Judy Jo Roark Garmon and Jackie Gleason Garmon.

Kathy was a graduate of Warren Central High School and spent several years continuing her education at Western Kentucky University. She went on to build a career as a legal assistant at ELPO Law Firm, where she devoted 10 years of service. She also spent many years working at Kroger, but the role she cherished most was that of mother.

Kathy was the devoted mother of twins, Clara Elizabeth Hamilton and Jon Michael Hamilton. Raising her children was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she was endlessly proud of them. She embraced every part of being a mother, from the everyday moments to proudly becoming a band mom. She could often be found working concessions, helping with fundraisers, and cheering Clara and Jon on at their competitions.

To those who knew her, Kathy was one of the kindest and most selfless people they had the privilege of knowing. She had a gift for making people feel cared for and could brighten a room with her smile, laughter, and generous spirit. She loved singing, dancing, reading, and most of all, taking care of the people and animals she loved. She especially enjoyed being a “Ki-Ki” to her beloved fur-grandbabies and treasured the time she spent with them.

Kathy was an avid reader and enjoyed books by authors such as John Grisham and Patricia Cornwell. Whether she was singing along to a favorite song, dancing, sharing a laugh, cheering from the sidelines, or simply being there for someone who needed her, Kathy found joy in the simple moments and in making others happy.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dora Vallie Roark, Joseph Arvel Roark, Jean Garmon, and Burton Garmon.

She is survived by her children, Clara Elizabeth Hamilton and Jon Michael Hamilton, and their father, Michael Hamilton; her brother, Alan Garmon (YashPreet) and son, Griffin Garmon; and her beloved fur-grandbabies, along with countless friends and loved ones whose lives were made brighter by her kindness.

Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, selflessness, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
