Having served his country with honor, Kenneth retired from a distinguished career in the military after 23 1/2 years in the Air Force, National Guard, and Army. His passions extended beyond his professional life; he was an avid woodworker, hunter, and fisherman. Each hobby brought him joy and a sense of fulfillment. His hands were never idle, often found working on tractors or devoting time to teaching Sunday School at Castle Heights Church of God of Prophecy, where he was a beloved member of the congregation.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Jean Bartlett Bird, and his brother, Jerry Wayne Bird, and his son, Kenneth Earl Bird Jr. Kenneth was a cherished grandfather to Erica Lee Bird, Lauren Rhea Bird Hatton, Elijah Thomas Bird, and Bailey Layne Bird, and he delighted in the company of several great-grandchildren.
