Leland Sinclair Young, a proud veteran of the United States Army, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Ahava Healthcare in Clarksville, TN. He was born April 5, 1947 and attended both Cameron High School and West Green High School where he graduated in 1965. Leland is a veteran of the Vietnam War. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Metal and an Expert Badge with Rifle Bar. He served honorably as a specialist 4th class. Leland is survived by his daughter Rhonda (Jon) Pryor of Bowling Green, KY; two grandchildren, Zachary Hunt and McKenna Hunt of Bowling Green, KY; two sisters, Clara S. Young of Bradenton, FL, Lois Wickham of Zanesville, OH; one brother, Neil Young of Cameron, WV. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Phyllis Young and a brother Marcus Young. His loved ones will remember some of his great enjoyments of life including hunting, raising champion beagle hounds and gunsmithing. A memorial service honoring the life of Leland will be held for family and loved ones in West Virginia at a later time. His ashes will be interred at the Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
