Leslie Dale Saunders, 74, of Smiths Grove, Kentucky passed away at home on December 31st while walking his beloved Corgis.
Leslie was a dairy farmer for most of his life in upstate New York on his family’s farm. He was extremely proud when he earned his CDL license and became an owner-operator with his own truck. He considered his family his greatest accomplishment in life and was immensely proud of each of them.
He loved spending quality time with his family and was always laughing and joking around. In his free time, he enjoyed playing with his grandkids, fishing, watching The Three Stooges, funny movies, and football. Two of his favorite movie quotes were, “He just sailed right out there,” and “Who’s flying the plane?”
Leslie is survived by his wife, Melanie; daughter, Amanda; son, Kyle (Amy); grandchildren, Landon, Karsyn, and Kynlee; brothers, Edwin (Ann), Bradley (Nancy), and Carl (Fran); sister, Nancy Long (Phil); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Gladys Saunders, and one grandchild who was loved but never held, Madison.
Leslie will be missed by so many, but his laughter and joy will forever bring smiles to the faces of all who knew him.
