Margaret Mitchell

Margaret Lynn Mitchell, 99, was born June 4, 1922, in Bowling Green, KY to the late John and Nellie Lynn. She was called to her eternal home on June 22, 2021, at Greenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bowling Green, KY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Granville Mitchell, Sr. ; her son, Barnard Mitchell; and two sisters, Bernese Lashley, and Alama Holliman. She leaves four children to mourn her passing and cherish her precious memories, Granville Mitchell, Jr (Zena), Varnado Mitchell (Carolyn), Evans Mitchell, and Cynthia Mitchell Boards (Don); along with one daughter-in-law, Karon Mitchell (widow of Barnard). Mrs. Mitchell is also survived by one sister, Betty Carpenter; six grandchildren, TeVon Boards, Jensine Mitchell, Cornelius Blewett, Sheria Raberton, DeShawn Mitchell, Tabarus Mitchell, and Kareem Mitchell; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nephews and nieces. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. The public visitation will be on Monday, June 28, 2021, from 12 noon to 1 pm with the funeral to follow at 1 pm. Both the visitation and funeral service are at Cornerview Community Church, 6378 Louisville Rd, Bowling Green, KY. Mrs. Mitchell’s earthly remains will be laid to rest at 3 pm in Fairview Cemetery (1209 Fairview Ave).
