Mary Smith

Mary Jo Smith of Bowling Green, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022 after 92 years of fascinating adventures, some that span the globe. The youngest of 11 children and born in Huntsville, AL to the late James R. and Josie Ann Stewart Hayes, Mary Jo is also preceded in death by all 10 of her siblings; her granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Hauser; beloved brothers and sisters-in-law Reginald, Seamon, Winburn, Rhea Nell and Jo. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years & 9 months, Dale Smith; her dear children Dr. Philip Kent Smith (Karen) and Lisa Kay Hauser (Richard); cherished grandchildren Seth, Judah, Blake, John Michael, Rachel, Tracie, Ricky & Garrett; precious great-grandchildren Aaron, Eden, Luke, Natalia, Gabriel, Gemma, Goldie, Davis, Blair, Micah, Mariah, Madeline, Makayla, Mara Grace, Bentlei & Jaxxon; a host of other dear family, friends and her special furry friend, PowderPuff. Visitation for Mrs. Mary Jo Smith will be held on Friday, October 7th, 2022 beginning at 9am thru 9:45 with a funeral service beginning at 10am, all at Cone Funeral Home, 1510 Campbell Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42104. Interment to follow with a graveside service beginning at 12:30pm at Evergreen Cemetery, Greenville, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wisconsin Christian Youth Camp (WCYC) at WCYC. org or checks can be mailed to WCYC, c/o April Alexander, 6835 W. Kathleen Ct. #4, Franklin, WI 53132 with “In memory of Mary Jo Smith” in the memo line.
