Mattie Flippin

Ms. Mattie Pearl Flippin, age 82, of Bowling Green, KY, entered into eternal rest and set eyes on Jesus on Wednesday evening, October 13, 2021 at Greenwood Nursing and Rehab in Bowling Green, KY. Mattie was born in Simpson County, KY to the late Lewis Anderson and the late Belma Elaine West. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Wynn and Clara Grainger, and one brother, Walter F. Doss. She is survived by her four children, L. C. Flippin Jr. of Franklin, KY, Rocky Flippin, of Franklin, KY, Donnell Flippin of Franklin, KY, and Lisa Bryant (Donny) of Murfreesboro, TN; ten grandchildren, Brent, Jamie, Tasley, Elizabeth, Pheldon, Amber, Taylor Turner, Taylor Uhls, B. B. and Monique; 14 great-grandchildren, Princeton, Nabria, Elija, Serenity, Isiah, Noah, Falena, Amilla, Luna, Aara, Hayden, Magnus, Demi, Christian; one brother, Joe Billy Flippin (Gail) of Franklin, KY; three sisters, Patricia Gamble (Jimmy) of Franklin, KY, Melinda Turner (James) of Franklin, KY, and Maxine Hampton of Auburn, KY. Ms. Mattie was a member of Alpha Missionary Baptist Church after joining at an early age. She worked at the Women’s Ministry and was on the mother’s board at church. One thing she loved doing was cooking for others. Mattie was known for her compassionate nature and would help out her family, friends and even complete strangers. She was a devoted mother and very passionate about her children. She worked hard and lived for her children. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Lane) with arrangements. The family will receive friends and visitors on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, with service beginning at 1:00 PM at Alpha Missionary Baptist Church in Franklin, KY, located at 301 John J. Johnson Ave. Franklin, KY 42134. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. The family requests masks to be worn during visiting and service. Thank you for your cooperation.
