Melanie Arden Pryor, affectionately known as MeMe, passed away on May 4, 2026, at Signature Health Care. She was born on December 18, 1962, in Jefferson County, Kentucky.

Melanie was a woman who cherished simple joys. She loved spending time with her family, finding great happiness in their company. Cooking was a passion of hers; she enjoyed preparing meals that brought everyone together. Friends and laughter also played an important role in her life, and she treasured the good times they shared.

She was born Melanie Arden Dickerson and later became Melanie Arden Pryor. Throughout her life, she was loved deeply by those close to her.

Melanie is survived by her mother, Doris Jean Shackleford (Cundiff), and stepfather, Boyd Shackleford who continues to hold her memory dear. She leaves behind her brother, Timothy Martin Dickerson, and sisters, Teresa Mayfield and Jennifer Gale Kolker, step siblings, Terry and Troy Greenwell, Mike and Lynn Shackelford and their two Daughters, Emily and Hannah, Mark Shackleford, Bruce Shackleford all who remember her fondly. Her three sons, Jason Pryor, Cory Pryor, and Christopher Pryor, carry forward her love and spirit.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carroll Ray Dickerson, and her brother, Daryle Ray Dickerson. Their memories remain a part of her story.

Melanie Arden Pryor’s life was filled with love and laughter. She will be remembered for the warmth she brought to those around her and the simple pleasures she embraced. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
