Monte Pierce

Monte G. Pierce, age 64, of Smiths Grove, KY, passed away August 4, 2022, at home with his wife Angel by his side. Monte was born October 8, 1957, in Lockport, NY, to the late Aubrey W. and Teresa L. Pierce. He is survived by his wife, Angel of the home; son, Ron L. Avey of Nashville, TN; one sister, Kelly Pierce (Jeff) of Lilburn, GA; brothers, David Nixon of Rochester, NY, and Aubrey Pierce (Irina) of Norcross, GA; along with his brother in-law and sister in-law, and several nieces and nephews. Monte was a 1975 graduate of Lockport Senior High School. He worked in farming, construction, and built his own dream home, while working in the auto industry before retiring in 2020. Monte married the love of his life, Angel, in August of 2007. Monte was happiest riding his horses or his motorcycle, but always with Angel by his side. Monte and Angel spent many years and thousands of miles on the back of that motorcycle traveling coast to coast and border to border. He was also an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, and kayaking. His wife introduced him to ballroom dancing, and he became quite the dancer. He could do a ‘mean’ Tango, but his favorite was to waltz with ‘his Angel’, (as he often referred to her). Monte was known for his quick wit, laughter, great stories and his profound gentleness. He will be greatly missed by all. Services will be held at a later date. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home with the arrangements for Mr. Pierce.
