With loving memories and heavy hearts, we honor the life and legacy of Murdias Brown (née Harden), who passed from this world on July 24, 2026, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Born on September 30, 1940, in Tunica, Mississippi, Murdias spent her years touching countless lives with her kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.

Murdias Brown’s journey began in the Mississippi Delta, where she developed the enduring values that would come to shape her family and her community. Guided by the gentle wisdom of her parents, George and Mary Harden, Murdias carried their teachings all her life, even as she faced hardship and loss.

A steadfast believer in education and personal growth, Murdias earned her GED at the General Motors Educational School, showing those around her the importance of perseverance and resilience. She ultimately became a caregiver with Home Instead. She always encouraged loved ones to strive for excellence and never give up on their dreams.

Faith formed the cornerstone of Murdias’s life. As a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, she found her second family among her brothers and sisters in Christ. Her love for her church was deep and abiding, and she cherished the warmth, support, and fellowship of the congregation. Pastor John C. Lee held a special place in her heart, as she gained spiritual guidance and comfort through his leadership.

Murdias was not only a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and wife, but also a source of inspiration. Her one surviving sister, Louise Hamilton. She is survived by her loving children: son R daughter Karen Pointer, and sons Ricky Harden, Werhner Brown, David Brown. Her grandchildren are Stephon Wade, Jerry Smith Jr., Marquita Meador, and Keyshia Barge. Her great grandchildren are Jerry Smith, Nevaeh Smith, Jaden Chance, Zakyia Phill, Damien Gilbert, and Dezmien Wade. The love and wisdom she imparted to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will be cherished and carried forward into generations to come.

She is reunited in eternal peace with those who went before her: her dear husband Ivory Brown; her sons-in-law LP Pointer III; son Melvin Harden; her beloved daughter Lillian Deborah Wade; and her parents, George and Mary Harden. Though missed deeply by all who knew her, their memories bring comfort amidst sorrow.

The memory of Murdias will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy endures in the values she taught, the example she set, and the boundless love she so freely gave.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10:00AM to 12:00PM at Mt. Zion Baptist, 175 Graham Drive, Bowling Green, KY 42101. A funeral service honoring her life will follow at 12:00PM at the same location. All who wish to pay their respects and celebrate Murdias’s life are welcome to attend.
