Paul D. Davenport, born May 3, 1951 in Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away February 17, 2026 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Kathleen Davenport. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Judith Lowe Davenport, along with his children Jennifer Church (Steve), Ashley Terry (Kevin), and Matthew Vamvas (Meghann). His siblings Karen Chapman (John), Beth Burton, Terri Wells, Mary Fly (Johnny), and Jane McDonald (George Droke), and grandchildren, Haley Church (PJ Fischer), Aidan Rasdall, and Keegan Terry also survive.
Paul lived on Blue Level Road as a child and young man. He was the only son with five sisters. He did a lot of farm chores including milking, gardening, and tobacco raising. He learned about hard work then, and he passed his determination and work ethic on to his kids and grandkids. He graduated from Warren Central in 1969, and attended WKU.
He was an employee at The Medical Center in the engineering department. He was the ultimate salesman and craftsman. His last position was with Century Entertainment in Louisville, as a kitchen and bathroom designer. He retired in 2019 and returned to Bowling Green.
He loved to play golf and go duck hunting with his friends. He was an avid reader and since he retired, a pool player. He spent many hours at Check's shooting pool. Paul loved to watch and to coach sports. His favorite teams were UK basketball and the Oakland Raiders. He spent hundreds of hours coaching peewee football, and even won the Toy Bowl. He coached, then watched the children's softball and basketball teams. Lifelong impressions were made on those children and their teammates.
Friends and family meant everything to him. If he could do a favor or support them in any way, he did. Because he could fix anything, that happened a lot. Paul gave everyone a nickname. You could consider yourself in his inner circle if you had one. He loved to tell the same stories to anyone that would listen, the family numbered them. He was a good friend and provider who will be missed terribly.
