Phoe Reh

Beloved Phoe Reh, 65-year-old, died July 9, 2020 at the home of his youngest son, Taw Reh in Bowling Green, KY. He was born January 1, 1955 in Shadow, Burma (Myanmar). Like many he was forced to flee his homeland for the refugee camps of Thai/ Burma border, where he waited for 13 years before being granted entry into the United States. Phoe Reh resided here in the US for 10 years and recently enjoyed citizenship. Phoe Reh is survived by his wife, Pray Mo of 40 years and their 5 children, Kar Reh, Po Reh, Soe Reh, Taw Reh and ku Mo and 10 grandchildren. Phoe Reh is Roman Catholic and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church here in Bowling Green. Accompanying his religious life, Phoe Reh stayed committed to practicing the cultural teachings of his ancestors and is regarded as an elder member of the leadership of the Bowling Green Karenni Community who relied on his guidance of preserving ancient, primitive traditions. Phoe Reh's greatest wish was to return once more to Burma to see his siblings after his naturalization. A former employee of Perdue, he suffered many chronic pains after an automobile accident in 2011 forcing him to cease work. Nevertheless, Phoe Reh was an invaluable asset to his family, helping to raise his grandchildren, caring for them since birth and considered by his daughter in law to be her right hand. Phoe Reh and family received news of his having bile duct cancer only weeks before overtaking him. While he was not able to return to his cherished family and friends in his homeland, Phoe Reh did fulfill his hope to return to his adored grandchildren in Kentucky and died peacefully in their presence, surrounded by the familiar sounds, voices, sights and smells of those people and things that brought his life meaning. Bowling Green Karenni Community has gathered for nearly two weeks to remember the life of this gentle, grateful, humble servant. Service Details.
