Robert “Bob” Sorensen, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Bob was born on May 21, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, to Harry and Anna Sorensen. In December 1964, he married the love of his life, Sandy. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their five children in Glasgow, Kentucky.

In 1989, Bob and Sandy made one of the biggest decisions of their lives when they moved to their favorite place, St. Augustine, Florida. They both loved the beach life and cherished the years they spent there. Above all, Bob and Sandy dedicated their lives to their family and to one another. They shared 59 years of marriage until Sandra’s passing in 2024.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his five children, Peter Sorensen (Tammy), Karl Sorensen, Katrina Bucklew, Gretchen Trass (Eric), and Robert Sorensen II (Ashley); six grandchildren, Timothy Sorensen, Justin Sorensen, Lauren Sorensen, Brandon Thomas, Victoria Bucklew, and Anna Trass; two great-grandchildren, Henry Sorensen and Evan Thomas; three step-grandchildren, Jackson Miller, Elex Eaton, and Bree Eaton; and two great-step-grandchildren, Grayson Knox Miller and Sloane Brasic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Anna Sorensen; his beloved wife, Sandy; and his granddaughter, Brittney Thomas.

Bob leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever carry his love with them. His devotion to Sandy, his children, grandchildren, and extended family will remain a lasting part of his legacy. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
