Robert Poindexter

Brother Robert (Sonny, Rabbi, Arab) H. Poindexter, 80 of Bowling Green, Ky transitioned from his earthly tabernacle on Monday, December 16, 2019. He was born April 13, 1939 to the late John Lee Poindexter and Elner Johnson, in Mason, TN. Brother Robert accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized in Jesus Name (1997) and received the gift of the Holy Ghost (1999). He was a member of Our Lord's Temple Church where he served as an usher. He loved to Praise The Lord and run the aisles. The testimony he had was The Lord changed my drink from Crown Royal to Royal Crown. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and trucks, driving fast, gardening, watching westerns and wrestling tv shows and just hanging out with his friends laughing and having a good time. Robert met Gloria in St. Louis, Mo. They were married on January 28, 1984 in Bowling Green, Ky. They have 7 children: Tyrone Smith (deceased), Pamela Sears, Tammy Jones, Evangeline Poindexer, Tyrone (Karen) Wingo, Dion Wingo, Jessie (Lakresia) Wingo and Daryl (Shelta) Wingo. Brother Robert's memories will forever be cherished by his wife, Gloria Poindexter; the children; sisters and brothers; grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am - 11:00 am Monday, December 23, 2019. The Home-going celebration will begin at 11:00 am.
