Roger Dale Russell, 75, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends in Park City, Kentucky, on May 1, 2024. Roger was married to Sharon Elizabeth Peterson. Roger was born on December, 22,1948, to George Russell and the late Hazel Jean Adcock. He was raised by his stepfather, the late T\Sgt. Bernard K. Adcock (USAF Ret). Roger and his family traveled extensively throughout the U.S and Europe due to his stepfather's career in the military. Roger graduated from Desert High School in 1966. He enlisted in the army in 1967 and served at Fort Stewart, Georgia, Aberdeen Proving Ground, New Mexico and as an aircraft armament repair man at Camp Evans, Hue, South Vietnam, in 1970. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Roger was a master plumber licensed in three states operating AKR Plumbing.

Besides his wife of 42 years, Roger leaves behind his sons Kenneth Russell (Amanda) of Chapel Hill Tennesse and Adam Russell of Cave City, Kentucky. 5 grandchildren Brooklyn, Ally, Lucy, Cora Bell, and Lorelie Emerson Russell. His "bonus grandchildren" Aurora, Emma, Braxton, and Sophia. He also leaves two sisters Connie Coyne (Peter) of Portsmouth, RI and Judy Byers Austin (Rick) of Sanger, Texas and a brother Micheal (Kathy) of East Palatka, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Annetta Rae Grant and cousin to the late Vonn Parsley.
