Listen to Obituary

Russell James Ayers, 75, of Bowling Green passed away peacefully March 28th, 2026 with family present.

Russ was born February 28, 1951 to the late James and Cora Ayers, in Canton, Ohio. He is also preceded in death by three children, Angela, Shawn, and Andrea, and his brother Ronald Swigert. He truly enjoyed being a member of Grace Community Church in Bowling Green. He worked at Timken Steel and Roller Bearing and held many positions across the building materials industry before he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sheridan, who has selflessly loved, served, and cared for him in ways words can’t describe. He is also survived by his three sons and daughter-in-laws, Travis and Tiffany of Franklin, Tyler and Kati of Westmoreland, TN, and Trevor and Amber of Bowling Green. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren that he adored and that adored him, Felicity(John), Trinity(Kaleb), Bryce, Khayman, Joshua, Henry, Kenton, Anastasia, Maggie, Amelia, Lane, and Julian. He recently received a promotion to great grandpa of Killian.

Russ loved fishing, hunting, trapping, and anything outdoors. But not alone. What he loved most was being around people. He loved to talk, tell stories, and serve others. No matter the subject he always had something to say. He has now left this place, but his stories will remain.

His greatest story is that he was saved by grace and is now with his savior, Jesus.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at Grace Community church at 5908 Scottsville Rd, at 12pm, with a visitation from 10-12am before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Community Church.
