Obituary

Elizabeth Johnson, 78 of Bowling Green, was born in Ratio, AR, on August 9, 1943, to the late Frank and Elnora Rogers and passed from this life in The Medical Center at Bowling Green on November 17, 2021.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Issac A. Johnson, Sr.; two daughters, Earthalene Johnson (Greg), and Rose Marie Johnson-Jones (Issac); one sister, Irene Watson (Jesse); two brothers, Henry Rogers, and Frank Rogers (Lois); and one very good friend, Gwen Lucas. She was also preceded in death by one grandchild and four great grandchildren.

Elizabeth is survived by two sons, Issac Johnson (Sandra), Michael Johnson (Jaretha), and two daughters, Irene McNeil (Richard) and Elizabeth Thompson (Eddie). She is also survived by two sisters, Elnora Young and Rebecca Wells; as well as 17 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mrs. Johnson was a patient and loving mother. Born and raised in the South she grew up strong and carried that strength with her through difficult times of loss and pain. She and Issac moved their young family to Chicago where that stern strength helped keep her family together through the tests of time. A few years ago, she moved to Bowling Green to be close to her family here. She will be missed.

The family has entrusted Cone Funeral Home (1510 Campbell Ln) with arrangements and has chosen cremation. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
